Andrew lives in Ireland with his wife and two daughters and they’ve spent 18 years church planting in a rural town called Enniscorthy, a town suffering from high levels of deprivation and unemployment. When they moved there, many of their friends were puzzled as to why they would chose to do that, but Andrew has always felt a clear call to bring God’s message of love to this community.
The family were part of a team which started Enniscorthy Christian Fellowship, which meets throughout the week, offering Sunday services, Bible studies, leadership teaching, clubs and drama groups for young people. The church leads regular outreach events in their local community, sharing their faith with their neighbours, handing out bibles and organising transport for young people attending their youth clubs.
Work within this community is often difficult and frustrating, with many young people in the area facing challenging family situations. In the midst of these disappointments, the church has grown and the highlight of the year is their Kids’ and Youth Summer Camps where young people gather to learn God’s Word. Many have come to faith and built a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
“It is challenging and exciting to share the Gospel … but it would not be possible without the prayer and practical support of Echoes International”
