A French Covid Story

Marie-Pierre and her husband Jacques run a food distribution charity based in Aix en Provence. Much of the food is donated by local supermarkets and shared with up to 100 people in the area. During lockdown they received ready-made meals from a local catering company and were able to further serve those around them. This, however, brought additional needs such as space to store the food. Their current fridge freezer wasn’t large enough and during the summer, temperatures can reach up to 37°/38°C.

With our Covid fund, Echoes International were able to help this small family-run charity purchase an additional fridge, meaning they could safely store much more food. One elderly lady told Marie-Pierre: ‘Since you’ve helped me, I eat better and sleep much better.’. Marie-Pierre asked ‘Why about sleeping?’ She answered: ‘Because I have the food you give me, my stomach doesn’t complain and hurt me during night’.

As well as this practical service, the couple also take any opportunity to share their faith in Christ. They recognise that the food they serve is important, but the Bread of Life that only Christ can give is far greater. Pray for the ongoing work of this small charity serving those in need in their local area, and sharing the light of Christ.
